Manchester United winger Ashley Young is said to be hopeful of a return from injury before the end of the season, and could be back in as little as six weeks, according to the Daily Mail.

Young suffered the groin injury in the win over Liverpool

Young suffered a groin injury in the 1-0 win over Liverpool at Anfield which needed surgery after it was revealed by Louis van Gaal it was very serious. It was feared that Young wouldn't be back for the rest of the season, but this latest report reveals that he could be back sooner.

The news that Young could be back sooner than first thought will come as good news for van Gaal as the amount of injuries that United have suffered in the fullback area this season has been a lot. Now with  the news that Young could be back sooner than first thought it will help the team.

Young could make his comeback for the Manchester Derby

The Mail suggested that Young could make his comeback against Manchester City on March 20th which would be a big boost for the team as they need as many of their injured players back as soon as possible.

Young has become a very important player for United this season, and even when played out of position he has performed really well, and when van Gaal announced he would be out for a long time, many United fans were really disappointed as they knew he'd be a big loss.

United have been looking for full back reinforcements to help with the injuries

United have since been looking for reinforcements in the full back area as the injuries are causing that much of a problem, but so far there doesn't seem to be anything happening, and anyway Cameron Borthwick-Jackson has had to fill in and has done a really good job.
