Louis van Gaal, after Manchester United's 3-0 home win against Stoke City, expressed his delight with the build up play for the goals the team scored, calling them fantastic goals.

Van Gaal was happy with his team's performance against Stoke

United won the game comfortably thanks to goals from Jesse Lingard, Anthony Martial, and Wayne Rooney, and everyone was praising the second goal highly as it was a great counter attacking goal. The Dutchman was delighted with the performance from his team.

Van Gaal told Sky Sports after the game that it was "a great performance. [In the] first half we created attacks, fantastic goals, we created more chances" and it was like watching the old United with the amount of fast movement, and quick attacks that were happening.

Van Gaal enjoyed the types of goals United scored

Van Gaal continued to say "great goals, from the building up to the end of the goal" which was true as its starting to look like the team is starting to gain a lot of confidence. Van Gaal says he is "very happy because you can see the team is scoring the goal, not only the player".

The fans will be delighted to see the team finally scoring goals in the first half of a game at Old Trafford, something they haven't seen since September, and the team could easily have scored more goals with the amount chances that were missed during the game, and van Gaal is pleased with how the start of 2016 is going.

United have made a decent start to 2016 by winning five of the seven games they have played, and van Gaal says "I think the only loss to Southampton in the last minute in a game that nobody has to be the winner" means that really he feels that team are unlucky to have any losses in 2016.

United now need to build on this performance going into their next games

United now to need continue on this type of football on Sunday against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge or else the win will mean nothing in the terms of the race for the top four, and hopefully van Gaal will allow the team to keep expressing themselves.
