Speaking in his weekly blog on Monday, Juan Mata has said that Manchester United's performances in the last few weeks show that team is now more confident, and playing much better.

United have been dominant in their last three games

United came away from Stamford Bridge on Sunday with a 1-1 draw with Chelsea, but the team deserved so much more after putting in a dominant performance during the game, which follows on from good performances in their last two games against Derby County and Stoke City, and Mata feels the game was well within United's grasp.

Mata said that he "had a feeling, at least on the pitch, that it was an attractive game for the fans", which is true as for large parts of the game United were the team that was attacking, and then Chelsea would counter attack meaning you were always on the edge of your seat waiting to see what would happen next.

Mata felt United's attacking play deserved the three points

The Spaniard  continued to say "from the first minute we went for the victory and played good football, but unfortunately, we let slip two points in the last few moments" as Diego Costa's goal in stoppage time prevented United from taken a well deserved three points away from Stamford Bridge.

At the end of the game Mata was confirmed as the man of the match for United after a having a very good game on his return to his old ground, and throughout the game the Chelsea supporters gave Mata a great reception, and Mata says it was a very special moment for him.

Mata says it always special to play at Stamford Bridge

On returning to Stamford Bridge, Mata said commented that "It's always special for me to play in Stamford Bridge. My feelings are different on a day like this, but once the referee blows the whistle for kick-off, in my mind the only goal is to win" which is a great attitude to have but, unfortunately, it didn't work out like that.

Mata continued to say "I have to say that I'm deeply grateful for the reception from the Chelsea fans and their applause when I was substituted" which was great to see that the fans didn't forget the great service that Mata gave to Chelsea during his time there.
