The former Manchester United midfielder believes that Mourinho should come back to England next season as the League misses him.

Former Manchester United midfielder Ray Wilkins hopes that the Red Devils replace Louis Van Gaal with Jose Mourinho in the summer. Wilkins believes that Mourinho should return to Premier League as the League misses him despite him being a controversial manager.

Manchester United have been widely reported destination for Mourinho, as the Red Devils are not able to get good results under current manager Louis Van Gaal. There have been speculation of Mourinho replacing Van Gaal as soon as the Portugese was sacked by Chelsea in December and Manchester City announcing the signing of Pep Guardiola for next season.

Premier League miss Mourinho

Wilkins while talking at a show on BT sport suggested that Mourinho’s next club “has to be a huge club.” The midfielder also believes that he “hopes it is in the Premier League. I think we miss him.” Most of the big clubs in the Premier League are settled with managers, Mourinho’s most likely destination in the Prem has to be Manchester United.

Mourinho was able to lift the Premier League title and Capital One Cup with Chelsea during the last term. The next season, he failed drastically and as a virtue he was sacked mid-season. It was one off campaign for the Portugese man as he has shown in past that he has a serious knack of winning trophies, which United could do with now as the club has been trophyless for past two seasons.

Mourinho brings entertainment with him

Mourinho is known for his various controversies in past and this season he had a fall out with players and club’s physio Eva Carneiro. Wilkins believes that despite this fact he should consider jobs in England. He admitted that “Yes, he can be extremely controversial but that’s part of Jose. It is part of his DNA.” Mourinho also admitted thatin a interview with BT sport that he will start managing a new club in July.

On the other hand, Van Gaal is fighting to keep his team in two competitions and is in the race of top four. The Red Devils face an uphil task of overcoming a 2-0 deficit against Liverpool in the last 16 tie of Europa League. The Old Trafford side forced a replay against West Ham United in the FA cup quarterfinals and sit sixth in the Premier League, four points behind fourth placed Manchester City.
