Manchester United’s newest signing Eric Bailly has already begun his pre-season preparation, even though the side aren’t scheduled to arrive at the AON Training Complex for another week.

United’s players aren’t due back at the training base yet, however Bailly has started his preparations early ahead of an important season in his career after his £30 million switch to Old Trafford earlier this month.

The Red Devils have been linked with several players in the past weeks, but midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan and forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic are set to put pen to paper by the end of this week.

Pre-season starts early for Bailly

The defender signed for the Reds from La Liga side Villarreal, and was new manager Jose Mourinho’s first signing since he took over the reigns at Old Trafford from Louis van Gaal.

United officially begin their pre-season preparations next week ahead of their tour to China, and also games against Borussia Dortmund and rivals Manchester City.

The new United player took to social media sit Instagram to post a video, which shows him working on his fitness, and he captained it: “The countdown has begun. Can’t wait to start as a Red Devil!”.

Mourinho told manutd.com: “Eric is a young defender with great natural talent. He has progressed well to date ad has the potential to become one of the best around.”

Depay also shows he is getting ready

Another Red, Memphis Depay, has also took to social media in a bid to show fans he is ready to find his way back in the side.

The Dutchman lost his way last season, scoring only seven goals in 45 games since his £25million move from PSV Eindhoven last summer.

However, under Mourinho, he could be given a new lease of life, along with defender Luke Shaw, who broke his leg back in September playing in the Champions League.

Mourinho will be looking at the pair to prove themselves ahead of next season, and with Mkhitaryan and Ibrahimovic, and possibly other players, set to arrive on the scene, the battle for places will heat up.
