Mourinho reveals that Pogba is ready to play 'some minutes' against Southampton
Pogba, who joined United earlier this month, has had to wait to make his debut for his new club after being suspended for the game against Bournemouth.
His debut is set to happen at Old Trafford on Friday but according to Mourinho it will not be the full game and the Portuguese boss is not expecting a 'super performance, from the French midfielder.'
In his pre-match press conference ahead of the Southampton game, Mourinho gave an update on Pogba's fitness saying "Paul has been training for more than a week" with his new teammates now and his "adaption is really easy as he has been here before" so it will not be a problem to give him some minutes on the pitch.
Mourinho is not expecting a super performance from the French midfielder
The Portuguese boss continued to say that "we played some players against Leicester with less training than Paul" and they managed to do a good job to get the win. He went on to say that "we have guys coming back from the Euros and holidays" so normally it takes time to be fully match fit.
Mourinho then went on further to say that he thinks that Pogba is "ready to play" in the game but "ninety minutes I don't believe" as he has only been back for a short time. Mourinho is not expecting a "super performance" from Pogba but there are conditions to "accelerate his process" so that integrates into the "team that is for sure."
The main thing though that Mourinho said was that the French midfielder would play some part in the game so the fans coming to the Theatre of Dreams on Friday will get their money's worth as they look forward to what Pogba can do for the club.
