Netherlands-based talent scout Roy Beukenkamp has joined Manchester United from PSV Eindhoven as Nicky Butt continues his academy revolution at Old Trafford.

Beukenkamp is the latest of a succession of appointments for the coaching set-up as well as the scouting system, within England and globally.

United bring in Dutch scout Beukenkamp

The former-goalkeeper told Dutch outlet VI that he will start work with United "immediately" after deliberating about the move. "It was quite a difficult choice," Beukenkamp said, because he "worked very comfortably with PSV."

Despite that, Beukenkamp eventually came to the conclusion that "this is an opportunity that might never come [again]."

The Dutchman has previously worked as a goalkeeping coach as well as a scout, listing Groningen and FC Twente among his previous clubs.

Fosu-Mensah and Chong previous youth signings for Netherlands

United's scouting set-up are scouring the globe for the best talent and multiple signings have been made this summer from abroad. From Beukenkamp's home country, Tahith Chong was signed from Feyenoord and has already scored for the under-18s side, assisting multiple goals for the impressive 16-year-old Angel Gomes, too. A more prominent signing from the Netherlands was Timothy Fosu-Mensah, who is currently in the first team set-up having been signed at a young age.

Nishan Burkart, a striker, was signed from FC Zurich and has been playing with the under-18s side, who have scored five goals in their last three consecutive games. Idris Kanu has been brought in from West Ham United as well as Joshua Bohui from Brentford after the closure of the London club's academy.

United have a strong history of Dutch players at the club, with Daley Blind and Memphis Depay the current Netherlands internationals in the first team squad. They'll be hoping that Beukenkamp can find, and bring, more Dutch talents like Tahith Chong or Timothy Fosu-Mensah to the club.
