Van Persie backs Rashford to lead the line for United for a number of years
In Septemeber alone, Rashford scored three times, showing how good he can be as he was awarded the club's player of the month. Van Persie feels that Rashford has something about him that is very special which makes him a great striker.
Speaking to MUTV, Van Persie said that "Marcus looks like a very special player to me," just by the way he has gone about putting in consistent performances every single match and the former striker says that Rashford "has something about him" which is exciting for the club.
Van Persie continued on to say that Rashford is "always playing with pace and good technique," which frightens a number of defenders in the Premier League as his "eyes are focused on going straight for goal," which all good strikers do.
The striker went on to say that Rashford is a "very good player and he has a nice future ahead of him," as at 18 he is already performing at such a high level above his years.
Van Persie returns to Old Trafford later this month
To get praise from Van Persie, who scored 48 goals in 86 Premier League appearances for the club, shows that Rashford is catching the eye of everyone and hopefully his fantastic form will continue for the club in a difficult run of fixtures after the international break.
One of these difficult fixtures sees Van Persie return to Old Trafford in the UEFA Europa League with Fenerbahce and he is sure to get a great reception from the fans for what he did for the club during his time there.
