Despite the 2-0 loss against the league leaders from West London, midfielder Remy Cabella is looking to repeat such great performances in the future in the Geordie side. It's not been the easiest for the Frenchman since arriving to St. James's Park last summer, as he has found it hard to adapt to life in England and has been in and out of the team.

The Frenchman gave Cesar Azpilicueta a torrid time and if injury didn’t force the Spaniard off on 37 minutes, Cabella probably would have. The introduction of Filipe Luis also didn’t make too much difference either, as the Brazilian only won 40% of his tackles; Cabella skipped past him twice and compatriot Moussa Sissoko did so once.

In the match, Cabella won 5 tackles, won 22 duels out of 35 (62%), and won 2 interceptions out of the entire 90 minutes. This suggests that Newcastle are starting to see a player who not only offers an attacking threat but who will get physical in a league when such a thing is crucial for success.

''It was my best performance for Newcastle so far.", Cabella told the club’s official site. "I had one good opportunity, but Petr Cech saved from me – he is a very good goalkeeper. Now I have to work harder in training and hopefully I will score next time. I was pleased to be in the team and I want to play every week, I want to start games, I want to do great things with this club and I will give everything for this shirt.”

Whatever is in the plans of John Carver and whoever is there to replace him as permanent manager, it's only a matter of time before Remy Cabella shows what he is capable of just like he did in his 5 years at Montpellier.
