Newcastle United will host the visiting Tottenham Hotspur at St James' Park with both sides looking to end winless runs this Saturday.

With Newcastle losing five on the bounce and Spurs going two games without a win, both sides will be looking to turn around their form. John Carver's side could be boosted by the return of captain and veteran centre-back Fabricio Coloccini, who he is hoping will help prevent the threat of star forward Harry Kane.

Kane is certainly not a striker most defenders want to return against after a spell of suspension, due to his recent form, but Carver believes that Coloccini has the quality to stop the newly capped England international.

"(Kane's) been outstanding and I think he's earned the right to get into the England team," Carver said.

"It's great to see a young British talent do so well but we've got a more settled back four now. Daryl Janmaat will go to right-back, with [Mike] Williamson and Coloccini."Hopefully, they can stem his flow."

Whereas, although he has had a tremendous season under new manager Mauricio Pochettino, Kane is on a slight goal-drought as he is without a goal in two games since returning from his first international duty for England. Nonetheless, Spurs fans won't be calling for him to dropped in a hurry, with the striker one goal short of 30 in all competitions and joint top scorer in the Premier League with world class talent in Sergio Aguero and Diego Costa.

"I'm delighted to be nominated for both (PFA) awards, to have that appreciation from fellow players is a huge honour and it shows you are doing the right things," he told www.tottenhamhotspur.com, speaking on his tremendous season.

"It's been a hectic, crazy season with a lot of highs and this is another special moment.

"The last couple of games have been disappointing, we've not produced the performances we've been looking for but there are plenty of games left, starting at Newcastle on Sunday."

The 21-year-old striker may continue to assume the role of captain with Hugo Lloris and Jan Vertonghen set to be assessed before the fixture on Sunday.
