Former Celtic striker Gary Hooper has been linked with a potential move back to the Bhoys, after a disappointing two seasons at Carrow Road.

Celtic have been made third favourites to bring the forward back to Scotland by BetVictor, and he would certainly be warmly welcomed back by the Celtic supporters.

Hooper played a total of 37 matches for Norwich City last season, scoring 13 goals, which takes his tally to 20 goals in 68 matches for the Canaries.

The 27-year-old's vital strikes helped Norwich earn promotion back to the Premier League at the first attempt but his previous spell in the top flight with the club did not go as well as he would have liked.

Hooper is a fan favourite at Celtic

Celtic have the great incentive of being able to offer Hooper Champions League football and with only two senior strikers currently on the books, Ronny Deila’s side could do with the Norwich star’s accuracy in front of goal.

In his last season at Celtic Park (2012-2013), Hooper bagged 31 goals in all competitions for the Bhoys - his best tally for Celtic in his three years at the club.

Meanwhile, Celtic's top scorer last season was Leigh Griffths who managed 20 goals in total as they clinched the SPL title for the fourth year running.

Hooper plundered an impressive 82 goals in 138 matches for Celtic and according to the bookies at least, he may still get the chance to add to that tally.

What the bookies are saying

A number of Championship clubs are also thought to be interested in the forward. Bolton Wanderers and Huddersfield Town are said to be the striker's most likely destinations, at 3/1.

Former club Celtic are next on the list at 6/1, with Brighton, Cardiff City, Middlesbrough and Wolves all available at 12/1.

Other clubs thought rumoured to be in for Hooper's signature are Burnley (14/1) and Derby County (16/1), while Yorkshire clubs Sheffield Wednesday and Leeds United are both priced at 20/1.
