Southampton seemed to have turned to Norwich's Nathan Redmond after they seemed to have lost interest in their pursuit of Tottenham winger Andros Townsend.

It was rumoured last night and into this morning that Tottenham Hotspur were preparing a £14million deal for injured striker Jay Rodriguez with winger Andros Townsend being part of the deal to bring the striker to White Hart Lane.

It now seems that Ronald Koeman has ended his pursuit for the winger and now has turned his interest to Redmond, with a transfer likely to amount to £9 million.

The 20-year-old only joined Norwich the previous summer but he has been rumoured with a move away from Carrow Road with a number of clubs sniffing around the yougster. Stoke City were heavily linked with him with worries over securing Oussama Assaidi on a permanent basis.

Redmond is one of the many players set to join Southampton after a massive £92 million came in from selling this summer.
