Double quick time
The Dutchman has taken charge in 64 Premier League matches so far and has claimed a number of fine wins in his short time at the club including winning at both Manchester United and Chelsea whilst also picking up fabulous home wins against Aston Villa and Sunderland last season.
Koeman's side have been on a fantastic run of late winning five of their last six matches, after going on a horrendous run through the end of November to December where they lost eight games in nine, but the season looks as if its back on track now.
Koeman in good company
Only six other managers had managed to reach this milestone at Southampton and they are, Ted Bates, Lawrie McMenemy, Chris Nicholl, Ian Branfoot and Dave Jones. The name who is second on the list behind Koeman, now is Gordon Strachan as he took 73 matches to reach 100 points in the top flight. Branfoot was able to reach the milestone after 80 games, Jones did it in 85 matches and Nicholl took 86 matches.
Not the fastest ever
The fastest manager to reach 100 points since the team became a football league club in 1920, is Nigel Adkins, who was in charge for 45 matches in the football league for the Saints as he led the club to back to back promotions from League One to the Championship and then from the second tier to the Premier League.
Koeman has undoubtedly been a fantastic manager and a great find for the club and he once more looks as if he will guide Saints into European football after getting knocked out of the play-off round earlier in the season.
