England caretaker manager Gareth Southgate is set to snub Southampton duo Charlie Austin and Nathan Redmon for his next Three Lions squad.
The in-form pair have been in fantastic form in recent weeks but Southgate has allegedly overlooked them for the games against Scotland and Spain, which both take place at Wembley Stadium in mid-November.
What more can they do?
Redmond was an ever-present for Southgate in the Under-21s side but with the European Championships for the Young Lions approaching, the boss may not want to disrupt the squad.
Austin, however, was snubbed in the last squad after fine form and has only advanced on those performances. But yet again, the striker is set to be ignored, even with impressive figures of seven goals in eight games this season.
Daniel Sturridge has found form at the right time for Liverpool ahead of the squad announcement but Jamie Vardy has failed to score in the last 10 and is still set to get the call-up ahead of Austin.
“All goalscorers have periods where they are not scoring,” said Southgate recently, regarding Ballon d'Or nominee Vardy.
Goalkeeper Fraser Forster may be given the number one spot, with Joe Hart having made a couple of errors this season for loan club Torino, while Saints left-back Ryan Bertrand looks to be still involved in the squad despite injury.

Southampton youngsters James Ward-Prowse, Matt Targett and Jack Stephens are also involved with the Under-21 side as well as Redmond, and they also may have to wait for a senior call-up until after Euro 2017.
Southgate said moving a player from the under-21 to the senior squad is a massive transition of “dynamics” for them.
He also said how well the team is doing and said that breaking that momentum would be costly, and not disrupting the squad is “absolutely the right thing” to do for the time-being.
