Southampton will look too increase their outside chance of finishing in the top four when they travel to face Stoke City on Saturday afternoon.

Ronald Koeman’s side have lost just one of their last five matches winning three of those with the latest result a 2-0 victory over struggling Hull City last weekend.

This excellent run of form has seen them sit just five points behind current champions Manchester City, despite their excellent run they have been pretty poor away from the St Marys with the last away win coming against QPR back in February with two defeats and a draw coming since then.

Mark Hughes will be hoping that his Stoke side can get back on track as they have failed to win in their last four premier league games, defeats to West Brom, Crystal Palace and Chelsea were followed by a 1-1 draw away to West Ham last weekend.

Their recent record against Koeman’s side has not been any better failing to win against Southampton in their last six meetings in all competitions with saints winning the reverse fixture 1-0 back in October.

Victor Wanyama will be absent for the visitors through suspension with Steven Davis the likely candidate to slot in alongside Morgan Schneiderlin. Nathaniel Clyne could make a return to the starting XI while Florin Gardos is available after missing the Hull City game. However Filip Djuricic will not be back in time while; Jay Rodriguez, Emmanuel Mayuka and Fraser Forster are all long-term absentees.

Victor Moses joins Peter Odemwingie and Bojan on the treatment table after coming off at Upton Park with a hamstring complaint. Marc Wilson is also a doubt after picking up a hip problem last weekend with Erik Pieters expected to replace him in defence.
