Both newly promoted Burnley and Sunderland will be looking to kick start their lacklustre openings to the season when they clash tomorrow afternoon.

It's not a surprise to many that Sean Dyche's Burnley haven't exactly flown out of the blocks in their second Barclay's Premier League campaign. beaten well by Chelsea and Swansea in their first two outings, there's been a bit of encouragement from the last two games where they've held Manchester United and fought to a draw at Palace.

Although they will surely look back on the game at Selhurst Park as two points dropped as they blew a great chance to win it late on when Scott Arfield their only goalscorer this season saw his penalty saved by Julian Speroni. That type of miss in that type of game could prove very costly come May.

Former Watford manager Dyche has mainly stuck with the team that won him promotion to the top flight. This is mainly down to the fact he is working on the tightest budget in the league along with the low spending history of the club. The Clarets boss is a strong believer in patience with players, especially young English players however time to blend is not something you get in the Premier League and the need for early points is essential.

Visitors Sunderland have made a similarly low profile start with three draws and a defeat in their first four. The loss came in their last away game at QPR a newly promoted team like Saturday's opponents. These types of games have been an issue for the Black Cats in recent years and it's a big reason why they've been in so many relegation battles.

A positive way of looking at the start of Gus Poyet's first full season in charge on Wearside is they have been very hard to beat and are playing right through the full 90 which is something they definitely have not done in recent campaigns. A big challenge to the Uruguayan manager has been the lack of form from big money midfielder Jack Rodwell who needs to step up his game if Sunderland are to achieve this season.

A big concern on Wearside is where goals are going to come from this season with four strikers in the squad who don't have a combined top flight scoring pedigree never mind individual ones. These forwards being last season loanee Danny Graham, injury prone Steven Fletcher, flop signing Jozy Alitidore and high potential Connor Wickham.

Team News

Danny Ings is missing for this one after picking up a hamstring injury at Palace last week meaning Ashley Barnes and Marvin Sordell are fighting to replace him up front.

Defender Michael Keane and midfielder Nathaniel Chalobah who are on loan from the League's elite are ready to make their debuts this week.

Gus Poyet has no injury concerns but he might well have to switch things around to get this first win with the likes of Billy Jones, Jordi Gomez and Will Buckley pleading good cases for a strarting berth at Turf Moor.
