It has been reported by Sky Sports that Sunderland striker Danny Graham will have a medical on Tuesday ahead of his proposed loan move to Sky Bet Championship side Blackburn Rovers.

Lack of opportunities

It has been another tough season on Wearside for the 30-year-old as he has struggled to break into the starting XI at the Stadium of Light under former manager Dick Advocaat and now his predecessor Sam Allardyce.

His rare start alongside Jermain Defoe in the 4-1 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur was only his fourth of the campaign and became his 12th appearance overall.

Heading to the exit

The striker seems to be in high demand with a number of teams in the second tier of English football reportedly interested in acquiring his services, but it seems that Paul Lambert’s side are the front runners.

This interest has led many speculate that it could see star striker Jordan Rhodes make an exit from Ewood Park.

The Scotsman has managed 83 goals in over 150 appearances since his arrival from Huddersfield but has been linked with a move away on numerous occasions with Sheffield Wednesday reportedly looking at the 25-year-old, whose asking is believed to upwards of £12million.

Quick to quash any rumours

Despite the strong rumours of a move to Lancashire, the Rovers manager has remained tight-lipped over the move for the striker who is out of contract in the summer.

After their victory in the FA Cup against Newport County ,Lambert told the Lancashire Telegraph that names are getting “bandied about” he said that they “can’t talk” about players until they “come through the door”.

He did however confirm that there would be signings, adding that they will try to get “one or two guys” in and was hopeful that someone “will be in tomorrow”.
