Sunderland forward Dame N'Doye is determined to take full advantage of his second spell in the Premier League, even if he has to wait his time.

The on-loan Trabzonspor goalscorer joined the Black Cats midway through the window, but he has only seen action once, as a substitute in the 1-0 defeat to Manchester City.

Patience is a virtue for some

"I have had to wait, but we have a good team and we support them all, it was just a matter of waiting," N'Doye said.

N'Doye enjoyed an eventful spell with Hull City, who were relegated to the Championship, last season, he scored five goals in 15 appearances.

The 30-year-old is ready for his chance in the starting line-up to impress Sam Allardyce, after enjoying his debut as a sub against City.

N'Doye enjoyed late City run-out

"It was good to be playing, it is always good to be back on the pitch and it is good to be back playing English football again," N'Doye added.

"I managed to get on against City, playing nine minutes, and I just have to be patient."

Fellow January signing Jan Kirchhoff was awarded man-of-the-match in that game after a brilliant display in front of the back four, while Lamine Kone also shone on his full debut.

Points possible at Anfield

After not being used as a sub against Bournemouth, N'Doye is ready to stand up and be counted for as the Black Cats travel to Anfield on Saturday to face Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool.

N'Doye said: "There is enough spirit, we have many more games left and we have to be strong mentally for the next few games."

He continued, "We have to forget this one, put it behind us quickly and move on."

The Senegalese forward believes, "If we win three or four games then we will go up [the league]. If we play like that at Liverpool we can get something."

City scoreline didn't show Sunderland efforts

Sunderland felt hard done by after Sergio Aguero's goal after 16 minutes sealed all three-points for Manuel Pellegrini's side.

Allardyce's side were more than a match for the title-contenders, and England's number one shot-stopper Joe Hart was forced into making three brilliant saves from Jermain Defoe, Billy Jones and Wahbi Khazri.

"We feel a bit hard done by because we did well," N'Doye said. "It was a bad goal to concede, but we did well overall, we missed some luck and come chances, but that is football."

He added. "The second-half, in particular, we played very well, looked compact and strong, but just couldn't find a goal."
