Tottenham announced their first transfers of the summer market yesterday evening, as goalkeeper Michel Vorm and young full-back Ben Davies both joined the club on long-term contracts as new manager Mauricio Pochettino stamped his mark on the side by bringing in fresh talent.

Dutch keeper Vorm signed on a four-year contract deal while the Welsh youngster joined on a five-year deal; both shrewd signings in their own right.

Vorm will act as a challenging competitor for the number one spot for Tottenham, which Lloris currently holds, but it has to be noted that both goalkeepers hate to be on the sidelines during the thick of the action - that will be interesting, especially as Lloris has recently signed a new contract deal at the club.

Davies is a long-term investment, and a smart one at that for a reported transfer fee of only £10million pounds.

Davies recorded one of the highest successful passes stat in the whole of the Premier League, with 1362 throughout last season. He made over 50 tackles at full-back, showing he is also not afraid to defend on the flank as well as get forward.

But, perhaps the most notable signing is Sigurdsson's move back to The Swans, where he had a positive loan spell in 2012. He settled in perfectly, and helped Swansea during the campaign; scoring seven goals and three assists during his tenure at the club.

Swansea are in need of a player of Sigurdsson's ability: Not just to set up goal-scoring opportunities but to create chances on the pitch at all times. Bony and Gomis will be licking their lips when they see Sigurdsson behind them on the pitch next season, that's not an exaggeration.

He has played much better with Swansea in the year that he spent with them, than the two years that he was with Spurs, the stats prove it!

Swansea: 19 appearances for Swansea on-loan; 7 goals and 3 assists.

Tottenham: 58 appearances (mostly sub) for Spurs; 8 goals and 4 assists.

How do you think Sigurdsson will do next season, and will either side make any more transfers before the deadline closes at the end of August? Surely they will....
