Former Swansea City player and manager Roberto Martinez returns to the Liberty Stadium with his Everton side to face his former side Swansea, managed by Garry Monk who played under Martinez during his tenure as Swansea manager.

Both sides are currently on winning streaks of their own: Swansea winning their last two and Everton winning their last three. However, with Swansea over the 40-point barrier on 46 points and Everton just under it on 37 points, this game has very little importance to both sides as mid-table mediocrity looks to be the final outcome as the season comes to a close.

Despite 46 points so far sounding not that great of an achievement, Swansea are on the brink of having a record-breaking season almost achieving the most points (47) they have ever achieved in a Premier League season under former-player Garry Monk.

Who responded when questioned about the record, "It's what we're fighting for. "It's what our focus is. A lot of people have questioned what we've got to fight for in recent weeks."

He went on to say, "We're not in a relegation battle and we're not fighting for Europe but that's what it is. It's one of the targets that we set at the start of the season and if we could achieve it at some point during the season, we've got a great chance now.

"We're one point behind it with seven games to go and hopefully we can surpass it and really try and push on from there. We have an opportunity to do it on Saturday and there's no time to waste. Let's 100 per cent focus."

Although they are nowhere near achieving expectations, Everton have recovered from the majority of their poor season and have put to bed any doubts of relegation in recent games. On the other hand, Everton boss Roberto Martinez's future hangs in the balance heading into the close of the season.

He commented on his former-side, "They've been really strong throughout, I don't think they've had a bad spell," he said. "They started the season really strongly and they've always found a way to cope with injuries, suspensions and players sold in the January window.

"That's a real sign of a team mentality that they've got really good organisation as a side. Garry Monk knows the football club and the dressing room inside out and that shows in every performance that they put in. They're always competitive and always a difficult team to play against."

Team News

Swansea City: Kyle Naughton is out for the rest of the season with ankle ligament damage sustained last week and Jefferson Montero could make the substitutes bench, if he passes a late fitness test prior to the game.

Everton: Tony Hibbert, Darron Gibson and Bryan Oviedo are all definitely out of contention. Romelu Lukaku is a doubt with a hamstring problem and Aiden McGeady is unlikely to feature due to a back problem.
