Swansea City head to the Midlands this Saturday to face relegation-threatened Leicester City, who looked as good as gone a month ago, being eight points adrift of safety.

Now, three points behind 17th-placed Hull City, who have played a game more than Nigel Pearson's side, the great escape is looking more and more likely after a string of excellent performances which have seen them narrowly lose only once (4-3 away at Tottenham) in their last four games.

The other three games saw a 0-0 draw at home to Hull prior to the defeat at White Hart Lane, which was followed by back-to-back wins at home to West Ham (2-1) and most recently away at the Hawthorns (3-2 - West Brom).

Pearson was obviously questioned about relegation by the media, "We've given ourselves a more realistic chance but we've got to keep producing," he said.  "Our home form must improve and we have to stay focused. We've got almost the entire first-team squad available, which is important going into the run-in."

He continued, "We've had some bad luck, but the belief of the group has kept us going. It takes courage to keep standards high. We've got to make sure our run-in is what we want it to be. Our performances must be what we expect of ourselves. Other results only matter if you do your own job. If we can apply pressure by improving our own chances, all well and good."

Swansea have recently attained the 47 point record in the BPL and will look to further it with Europe out of sight and relegation not a concern. Despite drawing their last match at home against Everton (1-1) they have won back-to-back games before that, giving them a three-match unbeaten run. However, Leicester will see this as a winnable game for them as they look to claw their way out of the relegation zone, meaning that this is a game the Swans must not take lightly, which is something that manager Garry Monk is well aware of.

"Playing any team is hard in this league but the intensity of a team fighting for their lives at the end of a season is even harder," he said. "To be honest, I'm surprised they are where they are. I've watched them this season and they have some great quality. They've been unlucky with some results.

"But they have got themselves into a better situation with their last two results, so it will be another three points for us to fight for. Getting level with the points total is great, but I want to beat it."
