Swansea City's latest defeat at the hands of Liverpool saw the club slump to 15th in the Premier League table, with them sat just four points above the dreaded relegation zone.

But even though Swansea's players and manager came away from the game pleased with how they played and believing they deserved more, Iwan Roberts doesn't see things that way and believes it's time the club accepted it's fate and admitted they're in a relegation battle.

Time to face reality

The league table makes for bleak reading if you're a Swansea fan as the club sit right on the edge of the relegation zone, but football pundit and former Wales striker Roberts believes, "they're right in it, they really are."

Even though Garry Monk was adamant following the defeat that there was, "never any danger" regarding the club's safety,  it seems Roberts sees things another way, telling Monk he needs to," wake up."

Roberts is one of the first pundits to come out and publicly disagree with Monk, with most so far having got behind the young manager who is currently under great pressure from the board to turn Swansea's fortunes around.

The pundit also pointed out the fact that, "Only Villa in the bottom six have got a worse record in the last 10 games than Swansea."

This is a statistic that most fans may not have even been aware of until this stage, but it isn't one most would want to hear anyway.

With the Christmas period looming, form as dire as Swansea's is a recipe for disaster, and with only one win in 10 games something needs to change quick.

Whilst good performances in defeats can be accepted as gutsy and full of heart occasionally, the excuses are starting to wear thin with most now, and it's going to take concrete results to turn the faith back around.

For as long as the performances continue the way they are, Roberts will not be the last in the game to fire against Monk, and the more negativity that surrounds him will only provide the club with ammunition to pull the trigger on his time as manager.
