Swansea full-back Ben Davies is on the verge of becoming Mauricio Pochettino's first signing as the new Tottenham boss.

Pochettino took over at the end of May and has said that he doesn't expect a busy transfer period for the London side. Speaking a few days ago, when asked about incomings to White Hart Lane, he said: "Not many. We have a very good and big squad. Last summer the club made a big effort during the window and I believe in these players. We are always looking to improve but we don't expect big change."

One deal that he is keen on pushing through is for Ben Davies, however. The defender left Swansea's pre-season tour in the US yesterday as he flies home to attend a medical with his new club.

The Welsh youngster had an impressive season for the Swans, his performances led to him becoming a regular fixture in the side. At 21 years old, he already has a sizeable 71 Premier League appearances to his name. Sufficient experience for him to make the step up in the eyes of Pochettino.
