Spurs will have to lick their wounds ahead of an important run of games against oppostition from the bottom half of the Premier League.

Maurcio Pochettino spoke after the game about his disappointment in his sides display: "I'm very disappointed because our performance was poor and i am worried. We were ready to compete tonight but it was a very bad day and we will try to fix it.

"I think we were ready to compete, yes we conceeded a very early goal and afterwards it was difficult to manage the game, but i thought we would still win. But the first half continued to be very poor and in the second half we tried, but it was too late.

"The players all agree, we are all very disappointed, they are sad. The performance that the team showed today was poor and they know that the perfomance today was poor. We feel sorry to the supporters because they were brilliant again.

"It's a big shame for me and the players because when you feel the energy coming from the stands, having this kind of performance on the pitch is not easy. We all know in football sometimes this happens and we need to deliver next Saturday at home to Leicester City."
