Spurs were strongly linked with Kevin Mirallas in January, and further speculation is emerging that Spurs are set to pursue the Belgian, who has only has one year remaining on his contract. Reports are even suggesting that Lennon could be used as a makeweight in a Spurs move for the attacking midfielder.

Often this season Spurs have been devoid of energy in the attacking midfield trio, with only Andros Townsend offering anything close to electric pace. Thus this move would, in the eyes of many Spurs fans, represent a step forward due to Mirallas’ movement, creative and finishing capabilities.

This move is looking more likely by the minute, with Mauriccio Pochettino confirming that he is an admirer of the Belgian in the last few months.

Such a transfer would also be considered realistic on the basis of club chief executive’s Daniel Levy’s previous forays into the transfer market, and such a part exchange arrangement would be similar to the one which saw Ben Davies and Michel Vorm arrive at the expense of Gylfi Sigurdsson.

By the week, it is seeming increasingly unlikely that Lennon and Mirallas will be playing their football for their respective clubs next season.
