Tottenham Hotspur look set to secure a deal over the summer for 22 year old Frenchman Florian Thauvin from Marseille, according to the Daily Mirror.

Additionally, it seems clear that Spurs made an enquiry for the wide man in January, which was greeted with a stern hands off warning by the Ligue 1 side. Although Marseille will want to keep Thauvin at all costs, the lure of the Premier League could be enough to get the player on board with the deal.

The deal certainly seems to be feasible, as it is alleged that Mauriccio Pochettino will be wanting to buy players no older than 25, whilst Daniel Levy is rumoured to be keen on reverting to his old transfer strategy of buying players for no more than £14 Million and selling them for a profit to some of Europe's elite.

News of Spurs' interest in the winger, who has often been compared to Franck Ribery, will be music to the ears of Spurs fans, who, in the majority, have lost patience with wide men Erik Lamela and Andros Townsend.

Thauvin, has contributed to 25 goals in 61 appearances for l'OM, and has also attracted interest from the likes of Valencia in Spain.
