Having originally signed for the club in the summer of 2014, DeAndre Yedlin met up with his teammates at White Hart Lane the following January but only featured once for the first team - in the home defeat to Aston Villa in April.

Spurs beat off plenty of competition to sign Yedlin

Yedlin, who joined Tottenham from American side Seattle Sounders, has spent most his time in London with the development squad getting used to the physical side of the English game and the change in lifestyle.

Despite being just 21 years of age, Yedlin has already received 17 caps for the United States and played a key role in their 2014 World Cup campaign.

Following rumoured interest from Italian side AS Roma, it was Tottenham who snapped up the highly rated attacking full-back for an undisclosed fee. Along with instant commercial success across the Atlantic with shirt sales and the reputation of Spurs, it was thought that 2015-16 would be Yedlin’s breakthrough campaign in England.

Walker and Trippier seem set to force him out on loan

However, it looks like Yedlin may have to temporarily move elsewhere to get his much needed experience in the Barclays Premier League for the coming season. With the signing of Kieran Trippier for £3.5 million, and the added competition of England international Kyle Walker, Yedlin may find himself as third choice right back for the club.

According to recent Sky Sports News reports, Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino is planning to loan Yedlin to a fellow Premier League side - in order to aid the player’s development and prove his worth in England.

Recently promoted Norwich City are rumoured to have a strong interest in Yedlin, as they look to secure their Premier League safety next season. Such a loan to Norwich is likely to be beneficial to all parties, with Norwich bringing in an international player whilst Yedlin becomes a key member of their squad.

It is yet to be confirmed how strong the interest by Norwich, or any other club in the UK, is in Yedlin but the chance to loan out the American without significantly affecting the squad at Spurs is likely to be an extremely attractive proposition for Pochettino and his side.
