Another young talent committed his future at Tottenham Hotpsur today, Dele Alli becoming the latest man to pen his signature on a new contract with the Lilywhites.

The midfielder had added a three-year extension to his deal, ensuring that he’ll remain a Tottenham player until 2022.

Super rise to the top

This new deal represents the latest step in a remarkable rise for Alli, ever since he joined Spurs from lower league MK Dons just over 12 months ago.

Following a fantastic start to the season, he signed a new deal just months after signing in January, and Mauricio Pochettino has been so impressed by him that he’s now got the Englishman on even better terms. No surprise, given the 10 goals he scored in his debut Premier League season, leading to him picking up the PFA Young Player of the Year award.

'Crazy year' leads to new deal

Speaking about his first year as a Tottenham player, Alli admitted "it was a crazy year"

However, keen to keep his head on his shoulders, the young talent went on to add;  "I have to keep trying to improve, I can’t get carried away, I have to keep trying to make each year better than the last. This will be a tough year to top but hopefully I can do it."

It’s the latest in a current trend of talented Tottenham players signing new contracts, with Kevin Wimmer, Christian Eriksen and Eric Dier all having done so in recent months, Alli joining them now and Kyle Walker one of many expected to in months coming.

Harry Kane, also, is subject to interest from a new contract, but that could take a backwards step as he focuses on recovery having suffered a serious looking ankle injury in Sunday's win over Sunderland
