West Ham are preparing to fork out around £10 million for full-back Carl Jenkinson in a bid to wave off interest from Liverpool.

The Englishman has impressed since he arrived at Upton Park last summer and the Hammers have been told they will have to pay a large price tag to have a chance of earning his signature.

Brendan Rodgers’ Liverpool side are also rumoured to be interested in the 23 year old right-back, who is refusing to be drawn on any speculation regarding his future.

“I am just concentrating on doing my very best for the team and getting the results we need. I am not worried about anything else,” said Jenkinson.

Guy Demel is expected to leave the club in the summer having lost his place to the loanee signing, meaning a right sided defender will be at the very top of Sam Allardyce’s transfer wish list for the start of next season.

With talk of a possible move for rumoured want away Liverpool man Glen Johnson also in the pipeline, it is difficult to speculate where the future of the young full back lies.

Arsene Wenger is also refusing to rule out a possible return to the Emirates for Jenkinson next season. But with the emergence of the impressive Hector Bellerin coupled with the imminent return of French International Mathieu Debuchy, it is difficult to see where he would fit into the Arsenal side.
