West Ham have earned a spot in the 2015/16 Europa League by finishing top of the Barclays Premier League Fair Play table.

The table takes into account the following things; the combined amount of Yellow and Red cards, positive play, respect towards other opponents, respect towards the match officials and their behaviour towards the officials.

How the table works

If a player receives a yellow card they get -1 point but if the player receives a red card the -1 point is wiped out and only the -3 points count. Positive play is rated on a scale on 1-10, respect towards opponent is rated 1-7, and so its the respect towards the official, behaviour of the teams officials is rated on a scale of 1-6 and behaviour of the public is rated on a scale of 1-10.

West Ham earned their place in the Europa league because out of 38 games played they had a combined total of 310 red and yellow cards, 303 points due to positive play, 218 points in respect towards opponents, 223 points in respect towards the officials, 208 points in behaviour of team officials, which means they amassed a total of 1262 which averaged out at 8.3 points which meant that they finished top of the table
