West Ham United have signed Barcelona midfielder Alex Song and Chelsea winger Victor Moses, both on season-long loans.

The Hammers have been busy this summer with them already signing Darren Randolph, Pedro Obiang, Dimitri Payet, Angelo Ogbonna, Nikica Jelavic, Carl Jenkinson and Manuel Lanzini - the latter two on loan.

Thus, Song and Moses become the club's eighth and ninth signings of the window as they look to improve on an inconsistent start to the season.

Song returns to Upton Park

Song made 31 appearances in all competitions whilst on loan at West Ham last season and he was very popular with the supporters after making a big impression for the Hammers.

He is an all-round midfielder; suring up things defensively and capable of contributing going forward.

Speaking to the club's official website about his decision to return, Song said that it was a "very easy choice" and that he is "very happy" to be back.

He said that he believes he "had a great rapport with the fans and the club" last season, whilst adding that he and his family "feel at home" and are "set up very well" in the area - Song's children even "playing for West Ham academy."

The Hammers have the option of extending the deal for a further season when it comes to an end next summer.

Another loan spell for Moses

Moses moved to Chelsea from Wigan Athletic in August 2012, but has spent the last two seasons on loan at Liverpool and Stoke City.

He made 43 appearances in his debut season at Stamford Bridge, scoring 10 goals. However, he has made just one appearance since the return of Jose Mourinho in 2013, this coming as a substitute in the Blues' 1-0 defeat to Arsenal in this season's Community Shield.

However, Moses pledged his long-term future to Chelsea, signing a new four-year-contract at Stamford Bridge, before moving to West Ham.

He tweeted that he was "delighted" to sign a new deal with the club and is "looking forward to a good season" with the Hammers.

Hammers still looking to strengthen

West Ham are still hoping to strengthen their squad before the transfer window shuts later today.

Two possible incomings are Tottenham Hotspur striker Emmanuel Adebayor and Nottingham Forest winger Michail Antonio.

Adebayor had talks with West Ham head coach Slaven Bilic last night, however a potential deal to bring the striker to Upton Park is complicated as the rules state that a Premier League club is only allowed two domestic loans at one time. West Ham have already filled that quota with Jenkinson on loan from Arsenal and now Moses.

A deal to bring Antonio to Upton Park, therefore, is more likely to happen, with West Ham reportedly agreeing a fee with the Championship side.
