The agent of West Ham United striker Enner Valencia, Gonzalo Vargas, has confirmed that he wants to leave the club for Italian side Lazio.

Time to move on

The 26-year-old made the £12million move to the East End back in the summer of 2014, from Mexican side Pachuca.

However he has only managed eight goals in 47 league appearances, and despite the Hammers league success, Vargas has said that his client is looking for a move to a big club.

Vargas told Lalaziosiamonoi.it "We're going to England in the next few days with Enner to talk to West Ham" and stated that "he wants to leave, although he is not making an obsession out of it " as he has a "good relationship both with the coach and with his teammates."

He continued saying that Valencia "wants to play at the top - in Italy, Spain or England" and his future "will be determined 100 per cent by sporting elements and not economic ones" and that the Italian side "Lazio have shown a real interest and that's an option that Enner is particularly keen on."

Keeping him at the club

It has been stated that Slaven Bilic would like to keep the striker, and the club seem reluctant to sell him for less than the £12m they paid for him previously.

Vargas concluded "West Ham want to recoup the outlay on him, but Enner is not interested in that" and that it is "not true that West Ham are desperate to sell him" and the fact was "the coach has told him that he wants to keep him."

West ham United will take on the Carolina RailHawks at the WakeMed Soccer Park on Wednesday, July 13 with kick-off at 1am BST.
