West Ham United defender, Aaron Cresswell has said that he is delighted to be returning from his long-term injury ahead of the Hammers' next league match against Crystal Palace.
Getting back on track
The full-back was expected to be ruled out for around four to six months, with the 26-year-old suffering knee ligament during pre-season in the friendly with Karlsruher SC ruling him out of the beginning of the season.
Cresswell was one of the first in many line of injuries for Slaven Bilic's side, but Cresswell managed 50 minutes on the training pitch and with Crystal Palace coming up a week on Saturday and the full-back is excited to get back on the pitch.
"It feels good to be back out there training with the lads and not being stuck in the gym or the treatment room as I look to get the knee right," Cresswell told whufc.com. “I could not have asked anymore from the physio's, especially Eamon, our Rehab Fitness Coach who has helped me out massively over the last 12 weeks."
Cresswell concluded, “I am looking forward to getting back in contention. I have played 50 minutes and the knee feels good. I am looking forward to next week.”
Enjoying the stadium
It has been a big season for transition for the Hammers, with the club moving from Boleyn Ground to the London Stadium, and returning striker Andy Carroll has said that the players have been enjoying the stadium.
“My recovery is going well. I am working hard in the gym and everything is going well. Hopefully soon I will be back in action," Carroll said. “I can't wait to play my first league game at the new Stadium. I scored two goals against Juventus and would love to score a lot more there."
He explained, “It has been fantastic for us moving into the new Stadium and it is great for the Club."
Carroll concluded, "I know there have been a lot of discussions about the move, but the players love it."
West Ham United will take on Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Saturday, October 15 with kick-off at 5:30pm BST.
