All twelve Scottish Premiership sides were in action on Wednesday evening with both Celtic and Partick Thistle playing their first fixture of the league season, as their meeting had to be postponed at the weekend.

The Jags couldn't have hoped for a better start as they hosted Derek Adams' Ross County. Summer signings Ryan Stevenson, Daniel Seaborne and Abdul Osman all started as Partick Thistle cruised to a 4-0 win. Steven O'Donnell's brace was contributed to by goals from Stuart Bannigan and Gary Fraser at Firhill.

It was all smiles, too, for Ronny Deila and Celtic, however their 3-0 victory away to St. Johnstone wasn't as convincing. Anthony Stokes opened the scoring in Perth early in the second half, minutes before the Saintees had an appeal for a penalty turned down as Virgil van Dijk appeared to trip Dave McKay inside the area.

Dave McKay then gave away a penalty and was given his marching orders for his foul, but Celtic's Dutch winger Derk Boerrigter appeared to go down very softly. Nir Biton stepped up to take the kick and put it straight down the middle to double the Hoops' advantage. Callum McGregor added a third late on.

Hamilton Accies claimed their first win of the season, as they defeated St. Mirren 2-0 away from home thanks to a double from Ali Crawford. The Accies lost their first game back in the top flight on Saturday to Inverness, while St. Mirren have lost both their games this season.

Aberdeen also bounced back from defeat, as they were victorious in Ayrshire. Peter Pawlett and Ryan Jack were on target for Derek McInnes'side in a 2-0 win over Kilmarnock.

Both Dundee sides played rather forgettable matches; Dundee United have now won 2 games from 2 as they beat Motherwell 1-0, thanks to super sub Mario Bilate, while Dundee were held to a goalless draw in the Highlands against Inverness.
