Celtic resume their hunt for a place in the group stages of the UEFA Champions league with their third round, first leg game against Swedish champions Elfsborg in Glasgow.

Celtic manager Neil Lennon has an almost full strength squad to pick from with Adam Matthews, Joe Ledley and Charlie Mulgrew all returning from injury, and the only absentee being summer signing Virgil Van Dijk. New signing from Ajax, Derk Boerrigter goes straight into the squad, but is likely to start on the bench. Celtic will have to contend with the loss of two key players in the form of Victor Wanyama and Gary Hooper

Much of the build up to this game has been overshadowed by Elfsborg insisting that they will play on loan Celtic striker Mo Bangura, who is eligible to play against his parent club.

With the Swedish champions already way into their domestic season, Celtic manager Neil Lennon has some concerns that his squad may “tire a little bit quicker than they will” but is keen to stress that his team “have enough quality on our side to give them enough problems”

Celtic go into this game on the back of a 5-0 aggregate win over Northern Irish champions Cliftonville, whilst Swedish champions Elfsborg will be buoyed by their 11-1 aggregate battering of Latvian champions Daugava.
