13:55. Bit of Russian from Hamilton on the podium, interesting that all these drivers do their research, wth Rosberg being multi-lingual too.

13:50. An interesting stat, On October 13 (Tomorrow) in 1996, A Brit (Damon Hill), a German (Michael Schumacher), and a Finn (Mika Hakkinen) stood on the podium at the Japanese GP, the same three natonalities stand on the poium in the same order.

13:45. All in all, a rather uneventful race, Hamilton dominated, with no real drama occuring.

Final result...

Hamilton, Rosberg, Bottas, Button, Magnussen, Alonso, Ricciardo, Vettel, Raikkonen, Perez.

Lap 46/53. Massa is eyeing up Perez for 10th place and is looking likely to take it,with Perez having problems.

Lap 44/53. Mercedes' first ever Constructors title is imminent, with the drivers one and two, and Red Bull far down the order, the Silver Arrows have this in the bag.

Lap 43/53. Bottas is catching Rosberg rapidly, surely the Finn will overtake the German, not like it wouldn't be deserved Bottas has driven a blinder!

Lap 42/53. What a fall from grace for Lotus. Going from podiums last year to fighting with Caterham for the final places.

Lap 41/53. If Rosberg doesn't pit, that wouldbe a marvellous effort from the Geman. But maybe pitting would be the best option with Bottas closing in on him.

Lap 31/53. Rosberg overtakes Bottas for third! what a recovery from the German! Just Vettel in his way now.

Lap 30/53. Top 10...

Hamilton, Vettel, Bottas, Rosberg, Button, Magnussen, Alonso, Ricciardo, Gutierrez, Raikkonen.

Lap 28/53. Hamilton pits, he cmes backout in the lead and surely Lewis is going to win here, and will extend his Championship lead. Sutil spins his Sauber but does well to keep it out the wall. He collided with Grosjean and was span around by the Lotus driver.

Lap 27/53. As we hit half distance, Hamilton leads from Bottas, Rosberg has recovered well and is third.

Lap 26/53. Alonso has a bad stop. He gets stuck in the box and has a slow getaway, it doesn't appear to have affected his race at the moment.

Lap 25/53. The race has hit the mid race stasis, no real developments happening.

Lap 23/53. Pit stops are occuring now, Button pits from third, and cmes out in ninth, right behind Rosberg, Jenson's fresh tyres mean he'll make light work of the German.

Lap 22/53. Massa is trying to pass Perez but th Mexian is holding him up, come on Felipe, the Williams is faster than him.

Lap 20/53. Rosberg is finally back in the points, he overtakes Perez for 10th place.

Lap 17/53. Rosberg and Massa have done incredibly well! they sit 11th and 12th respectively after being at the back of the grid on lap 1.

Lap 16/53. Hamilton is way out front, and is coasting his way round. This race is definitely Lewis' to lose.

Lap 14/53. This race is exciting, but needs a catalyst, a stunning overtake perhaps, or a development in the title race.

Lap 13/53. It's evident why Alonso is arguably the bst driver in Formula One. He's already 20 seconds ahead of his team mate, who he started alongside on the grid.

Lap 12/53. Rosberg moves up to 13th, he's making his way back into this race, his faltering title bid needs him to gain some vital points.

11:50. In a new feature for pre race rituals, the drivers are gathering at the front of the grid for the National Anthem. Interesting scenes, Bernie Ecclestone, Jean Todt, all the big names are on the grid today.

11:45. Very moving scenes on the grid, as Marussia hold a pitboard with 'Racing For Jules' on it. With Max Chilton, Graeme Lowdon and some FIA senior officials coming to send their support to th young Frenchman.

11:40. Lotus' dismal season continues, their drivers remain at the back end of the grid. Can Romain Grosjean and Pastor Maldonado add to Lotus' eight points so far his season?

11:35. The drivers are making their way to the grid, of course there are only 21 cars on the grid today as Marussia will race only one car in respect to Jules Bianchi. #ForzaJules.

11:30. Force India and McLaren are enthralled in a battle for fifth place in the Constructors championship, only a single point separates the two teams heading into Sochi, who will come out on top today?

11:25. Felipe Massa had a terrible Qualifying yesterday, only managing P18 due to a fuel pump problem, can he recover and make his way through the grid?

11:20. Of course Bianchi wasn't the only talking point of last weekend. Formula One stalwart Andrea de Cesaris died last week in a motorcycle accident, he's the most experienced driver to never have won a Grand Prix. R.I.P.

11:15. Will McLaren make a strong start? or are they simply going to descend back nto the midfield?

11:10. It'll be exciting to see how well the Williams of Bottas moves at the start, with the lead up to the second corner being a long straight, Williams could seize the advantage.

11:05. Jolyon Palmer won the GP2 Championship yesterday, is he someone we're going to see on the grid next season?

11:00.  One hour until lights out! who's your favourite for the race? let us know using the hashtag #VAVELF1

10:55. Obviously Button is fighting for his Formula Onne career at the moment, and P4 on the grid must go some way to picking up a seat at McLaren for 2015.

10:50. Jenson Button had a good race last week, timing his strategy to perfection and managing to leapfrog a lot of drivers. Despite being pegged back by the Red Bulls, he finished fifth and showed McLaren can handle it at the top as he held off the Williams drivers, who have a much faster car.

10:45. A reminder of tomorrow's grid for today's race...

1) Hamilton (Mercedes), 2) Rosberg (Mercedes), 3) Bottas (Williams), 4) Button (McLaren), 5) Kvyat (Toro Rosso), 6) Ricciardo (Red Bull) 7) Alonso (Ferrari), 8) Raikkonen (Ferrari), 9) Vergne (Toro Rosso), 10) Vettel (Red Bull), 11) Magnussen* (McLaren), 12) Perez (Force India), 13) Gutierrez (Sauber), 14) Sutil (Sauber), 15) Grosjean (Lotus), 16) Ericsson (Caterham), 17) Hulkenberg (Force India), 18) Massa (Williams), 19) Kobayashi (Caterham), 20) Maldonado (Lotus), 21) Chilton (Marussia)

10:40. Daniel Ricciardo could be an interesting outside shot. He's been good at getting between the Mercedes drivers with him being the only non-Mercedes driver to win this season.

10:35. You have to think Hamilton will take the win tomorrow. He's the man on form at the moment, and has a real wind in his sails.

10:30. The Sochi track is very interesting. Very modern, and could give us an exciting race. It's drawing resemblence to Valencia's street circuit, which fell off the Grand Prix calendar a couple of years ago.

10:25. Sauber are quickly running out of races to pick up their first points of the season. Only four races remain this season, and Sutil and Gutierrez don't have many opportunities left, they sit 10th in the Constructors standings and have taken an unfortunate step backwards. The Swiss team were picking up podiums a couple of years ago with Sergio Perez collecting one in Malaysia a couple of years ago.

10:20. Marcus Ercisson must be impressed by his performance. Frankly Caterham's car is poor, but to outqualify a Force India, a Williams and team mate Kamui Kobayashi to name but a few. P16 is a grat grid slot for thr young Swede.

10:15. Championship Standings heading into Russia...

1) Hamilton, 266, 2) Rosberg, 256, 3) Ricciardo, 193, 4) Vettel, 139, 5) Alonso, 133, 6) Bottas, 130, 7) Button, 82, 8) Hulkenberg, 76, 9) Massa, 71, 10) Perez, 46

10:10. Vettel: I think we qualified in P10 because that's as quick as we can go.' He added, 'it would be nice to finish on the podium...if nothing special happens and we have consistent conditions it will be very difficult to make a lot of progress.'

10:05. Sebastian Vettel won't be pleased with his Qualifying result after only managing eleventh but promoted to tenth thanks to Kevin Magnussen's grid penalty.

10:00. With McLaren looking strong, with their cars Qualifying fourth and sixth, Fernando Alonso must be looking eagerly on at the team he is rumoured to be joining.

9:55. It seems that this track will suit the Mercedes engined cars better, with Mercedes, Williams and McLaren all looking fast in Russia. Five cars occupied the top six, with Daniil Kvyat being the only non Mercedes engine.

9:50. Rosberg admitted that his team mate was superior yesterday in his post Qualifying interview. 'Lewis was quicker, all weekend really, I've been working hard to get closer but couldn't' Lewis does appear to have the momentum behind him currently as he looks to extend his 10 point Championship lead today in Sochi.

9:45. With Mercedes dominating again, it's more than likely they'll secure the Constructor's Championship this weekend. The Driver's title however, is far from resolved. With it being either Hamilton and Rosberg that wins the title, with Daniel Ricciardo being a long way away from the top.

9:40. The drive of the day had to go to Daniil Kvyat. At his home GP he qualified a stunning fifth, He managed to outqualify both Red Bulls, the team he will drive for in 2015. 'it's a great feeling, I was very happy, fifth place is a great opportunity for tomorrow.'

9:35. Felipe Massa was the shock of Q1 as his Williams car suffered a suspected fuel pump problem. Nico Hulkenberg was perhaps another shock as he was outqualified by Marcus Ericcson's Caterham.

9:30. Today's Grid for the Russian Grand Prix...

1) Hamilton (Mercedes), 2) Rosberg (Mercedes), 3) Bottas (Williams), 4) Button (McLaren), 5) Kvyat (Toro Rosso), 6) Ricciardo (Red Bull) 7) Alonso (Ferrari), 8) Raikkonen (Ferrari), 9) Vergne (Toro Rosso), 10) Vettel (Red Bull), 11) Magnussen* (McLaren), 12) Perez (Force India), 13) Gutierrez (Sauber), 14) Sutil (Sauber), 15) Grosjean (Lotus), 16) Ericsson (Caterham), 17) Hulkenberg (Force India), 18) Massa (Williams), 19) Kobayashi (Caterham), 20) Maldonado (Lotus), 21) Chilton (Marussia)

*Magnussen qualified sixth but received a five place grid penalty for gearbox change

9:25. On the subject of today's race, Lewis Hamilton took pole from Mercedes team mate Nico Rosberg. But Williams' Valterri Bottas could have easily taken pole had he not made an error on his lap. Bottas went wide on the last corner, after being faster than Hamilton in the first two sectors, the Finn will have to settle for third.

9:20. There were also rumours that Marco Mattiacci, Ferrari team boss, has said Bianchi is on the brink of a Ferrari drive. It's clear Bianchi, a Ferrari junior driver, is in the Scuderia's long term plans.

9:15. The drivers are all carrying a message of support for Jules. The message is in French, Bianchi's home country. The message reads 'Tous avec Jules', which when translated into English, reads 'all with Jules'. Twitter has seen the #ForzaJules hashtag trending worldwide with drivers, teams and fans alike tweeting the message in support for the Marussia ace.

9:10. Only 21 cars will race this afternoon, with Marussia racing only one car as a mark of respect to Bianchi. Bianchi's car is race ready but will remain in the garage. There were rumours reserve driver Alex Rossi was due to race for the Banbury team this weekend after he was placed on the entry list for today's race.

9:05. Today's race has a sombre mood to it as the Formula One world still unites over Jules Bianchi. Bianchi suffered a horror crash in last week's Japanese Grand Prix, and is currently in a 'critical but stable' condition in Japan's Mie University Hospital.

9:00. Good afternoon and welcome to VAVEL's live coverage of the first ever Russian Grand Prix! I'm Aaron Irwin and I'll be here to take you through the race lap by lap.
