Well that was a decent race for spectators, incidents galore and Hamilton may not have emulated Senna, but Vettel overtakes the legendary Brazilian in terms of wins. Congratulations to Sebastian and Hamilton's title lead is cut down to 41 points from Nico Rosberg. I've been Aaron Irwin and thanks for joining us in Singapore, we'll see you next time in Japan. Goodbye.

Raikkonen seals another podium for Ferrari on a day where they looked pretty unstoppable, Red Bull did well also but credit to Nico Rosberg for finishing fourth where Mercedes were struggling.

Not a classic by any means but an entertaining race here, Hamilton's retirement will grab the headlines, but take nothing away from Vettel, who drove a great race to win the 42nd of his career.

Ricciardo is second, Raikkonen, Rosberg, Bottas, Kvyat, Perez, Verstappen, Sainz and Nasr are the top ten.

Sebastian Vettel wins the 2015 Singapore Grand Prix! His fourth win here.

61/61. Final lap here! we've hit two hours on lap 61, impressive! Verstappen being told, and refusing, to allow team mate Sainz to pass him.

60/61. Grosjean's tyres are worn, and he's lost out on a point to Nasr of Sauber. Vettel looks like set for a win here, Ricciardo is not far back from him but looks good for second.

59/61. Hamilton's title lead will be cut to 41 points should things stay as they are. We may see 61 laps here in the end, but only just.

58/61. A win here will give Vettel his 42nd race win, putting him third behind Alain Prost (51) and Michael Schumacher (91) in the all time winners list.

57/61. Driver of the day has to be Max Verstappen. Recovering from dead last following a stall to 8th and maybe even 7th, what a drive from someone whose F1 future looks very bright.

56/61. 14th in your first race in F1 isn't bad for Alex Rossi. Still ahead of Manor team mate Stevens.

53/61. Button told to retire after a gearbox issue. A double retirement for McLaren, horrible news for the former world champions, them days must seem so long ago right now.

52/61. Hamilton: "I was feeling super optimistic, I was easily keeping up, I lost power and was hoping there'd be a quick fix."

51/61. Only a few laps left, Vettel leading to victory bere with Ricciardo in tow behind, but it's unlikely we'll see the Red Bull passing Vettel.

50/61. Ricciardo sets the fastest lap of the race at 1:50:1, a late, late fightback?

48/61. Vettel is the most successful driver round Singapore, with three wins, looks like he'll be adding to that with a win for Ferrari.

47/61. Vettel, Ricciardo, Raikkonen, Rosberg and Bottas are the top five here as Maldonado is told he has some diffuser damage on his Lotus.

46/61. Vettel continues to leadhere, not all 61 laps will be done here, only 20 minutes or so left until the two hour limit expires. Verstappen passes Grosjean for eighth place!

43/61. The SC has definitely helped Toro Rosso, they've gone from dead last to ninth and tenth. Awesome from the Red Bull youngsters. Yellows still out at Sector three for Button's front wing debris.

42/61. Button and Grosjean colliding and Button lost part of his front wing, debris flying as  cars try to avoid it. Jenson pits to fix his wing, what a shame for McLaren!

41/61. Rossi can't overtake anymore, he's sat within the leaders. Unfortunate for Raikkonen and Rosberg in their bids to keep up with Vettel and Ricciardo. Back underway here!

40/61. The man on the track could have huge repercussions here. The SC has backed up everyone again and may scupper Vettel's chances of winning.

39/61. Can Button hold on for a point here? Would be welcomed with open arms for the Woking based team.

38/61. A man was just taking a stroll on the circuit, I've seen a lot of things in F1, Britain 2003 when an Irish protestor took to the Hangar Straight walking in the path of cars for example, but that is just odd!

37/61. Yellow flag in sector two as the SC is back out for the second time! There's a man on the track! What is going on?!

36/61. Perez passes Grosjean for ninth as Vettel leads by four seconds from Ricciardo. Rosberg fourth will eat into Hamilton's lead if he finishes well up in the points today.

35/61. So we've lost Alonso, Hamilton, Massa and Hulkenberg from today's race, while Verstappen is eighth following his stall on the grid, what a revovery from the 17 year old.

33/61. Hamilton is to retire! His power issue has stopped him from emulating the great Ayrton Senna's win record. Alonso is out as well now, they're dropping like flies here!

32/61. Vettel leads, Ricciardo 2nd, Raikkonen, Rosberg, Kvyat, Bottas, Perez, Nasr, Alonso and Button the top ten here. Hamilton way down in 16th as his problems continue.

30/61. Massa comes out without accident this time as he appears to be struggling with something too. Alonso and Button sit ninth and tenth now, they'd take this right now as Massa told to retire.

29/61. Points and places being lost for Hamilton, his 53 point lead could be eaten into here. Massa told to keep pushing. Hamilton 12th and will he be able to recover?

27/61. 40kmh slower than usual into the speed trap. Doesn't look like he's matching Senna's record today.

26/61. Rosberg passes Hamilton for fourth as Kvyat also passes him and Hamilton is now sixth. Hamilton complaining of a lack of power here.

25/61. Hulkenberg: "Quite frustrated, the race looked promising, very disappointing and annoying." Poor Nico.

24/61. Gap forming between Raikkonen in third and Hamilton in fourth, Mercedes have no power here.

23/61. Vettel is nine tenths ahead of Ricciardo, he's told not to push and to conserve his tyres for the sake of his two stop strategy.

22/61. Hulkenberg given a three place grid penalty for Suzuka for 'causing a collision.' Tad harsh on the Force India driver.

21/61. Hamilton remains fourth here and can't keep up with the top three. Kvyat was jumped by the two Mercedes' and sits sixth.

20/61. Back underway here as Vettel continues to lead here following the restart. Ricciardo is still second as Hulkenberg remain the only retirement today so far.

18/61. This race won't go the full 61 laps here, the two hour lmit is likely to come before 61 laps are completed, SC in now.

17/61. Safety Car leads the pack as Hulkenberg's car is cleared up. Verstappen and other lapped cars may all now overtake the SC.

16/61. Hamilton and Rosberg appear to have jumped Kvyat under the VSC. The real Safety Car is now out on track! Was clear it was going to come out with all the debris on the track.

15/61. Collision wasn't anything untoward, Hulkenberg couldn't see Massa coming out the pits and just accidentally shut the door on Massa, damaging his car and putting it in the wall.

14/61. Plenty of cars flood into the pits with all the leaders in. Button stuck in the pits as the front right just wouldn't go on. Over a minute in the pits for Jenson.

13/61. Kvyat pits and Red Bull are attempting the undercut on Kimi Raikkonen. Hulkenberg and Massa collide at turn two! Hulkenberg out and the Virtual Safety Car is out, may see the real thing shortly.

12/61. Ricciardo within four seconds of Vettel as Alonso fends off Sainz. Honda - Renault here!

11/61. Alonso pits, as does Sainz and both are held up as cars all pour into the pits. Alonso rejoins in P13 but Grosjean passes him under DRS.

10/61. Grosjean pits and rejoins in P17. While Verstappen goes very close to hitting the wall. He continues to try and unlap himself from the grid.

9/61. The cars shine in the night as we approach the first pit stop window of the race, it opens on lap 10. Ferrari's engine is definitely the strongest here!

8/61. Button complaining of very worn tyres already. It's going to be a long race for the McLaren man.

7/61. Mercedes don't look like they're going to make any leeway in the fight with the cars ahead. Retirements may be their only chance of a podium today.

6/61. Vettel leds, from Ricciardo, Raikkonen, Kvyat, Hamilton, Rosberg, Bottas, Massa, Hulkenberg and Perez being your top ten. Ricciardo may start to close in on Vettel as he eases away from the Red Bull.

5/61. Alonso is up in 11th, there could be some points in store for McLaren if they can keep the MP4-30 running.

4/61. Hamilton and Rosberg remain fifth and sixth as Ferrari and Red Bull fly ahead. Hamilton is ten seconds behind Vettel already.

3/61. Button has been passed by both Sauber's and now languishes in P16. Rossi is ahead of Stevens in P18 while Verstappen is dead last.

2/61. Three seconds! Vettel's lead is three seconds over Ricciardo at the end of lap one. Verstappen is a lap down after stalling on the grid, shame as the young Dutchman has looked good this weekend!

1/61. Lights out and away we go! Vettel steams ahead with Ricciardo, Raikkonen, Kvyat and Hamilton the top five. Great start from the Ferrari man.

The tyres allocated here are the red super soft wall tyre, and the yellow soft wall tyre. Cars are back on the grid, longest race of the season let's go!

Chances of rain are 10%, and a safety car is almost inevitable due to the tight nature of the circuit. Formation lap underway!

Drivers on the grid! Not long now until lights out. Formation lap is imminent.

Hamilton will be looking to extend his 53 point championship lead over Rosberg and even if a race win looks unlikely right now, he will aim for finishing ahead of his team mate to close in on a third title, emulating legends such as Jack Brabham, Jackie Stewart, Niki Lauda, Nelson Piquet and hero Ayrton Senna on three Formula One titles.

Backmarkers Manor have handed a debut to American youngster Alexander Rossi in place of Roberto Merhi. He didn’t make the best of impressions on Friday after he crashed his Manor into the wall. He failed to out-qualify team mate Will Stevens but has showed a lot of promise in feeder series GP2.

Hamilton is aiming for a special record, to match his idol Ayrton Senna’s amount of wins from an identical amount of race starts. His task is a lot harder from fifth, and he blamed the tyres for his poor qualifying. He said: “It was actually really challenging and these tyres for some reason aren’t working on our car.”

Vettel said he was ‘surprised’ by his pole position here. The German was a whopping 1.5 seconds ahead of Hamilton in fifth and secured Ferrari’s first pole since 2012. He said: “It’s a surprise…there’s no doubt they (Mercedes) have the strongest package this year.”

For the first time in a long time, Hamilton has failed to top a timed session in a race weekend. Rosberg, Vettel and Kvyat have all finished first this weekend, but not the championship leader.

GRID: Here’s today’s grid for the race, some shocks in amongst it.

1, Vettel, 2, Ricciardo, 3, Raikkonen, 4, Kvyat, 5, Hamilton, 6, Rosberg, 7, Bottas, 8, Verstappen, 9, Massa, 10, Grosjean, 11, Hulkenberg, 12, Alonso, 13, Perez, 14, Sainz, 15, Button, 16, Nasr, 17, Ericsson, 18, Maldonado, 19, Stevens, 20, Rossi.

Struggling team McLaren had a better qualifying than of recent times too. Both Fernando Alonso and Jenson Button made it through to Q2, with Button in 15th and Alonso in 12th. The hopes of a strong race are here, but can they transfer their relative pace in qualifying into race day?

It’s ironic that Red Bull look fast here, with their inevitable split from engine suppliers Renault dominating the headlines. Also the team are said to be leaving the sport, with rumours Volkswagen are in talks to take over Dietrich Mateschitz’s team.

Mercedes, for the first time in a long time don’t appear to have the best car here. Ferrari’s engine seems well suited to the streets of Singapore, while Red Bull’s power seems almost reminiscent of the Red Bull we saw take a stranglehold of the sport from 2010-2013.

It is in fact Sebastian Vettel of Ferrari who sits on pole position, with former Red Bull team mate Daniel Ricciardo alongside him. Kimi Raikkonen is third, while Daniil Kvyat is fourth, proving that their pace over practice has transferred.

We have quite a unique situation here in regards to how 2015 has gone so far. Neither Mercedes is starting on the front row, nor the second, but the third row. Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg sit fifth and sixth respectively while Ferrari and Red Bull occupy the top four places.
