AS Monaco of France has signed 2013 Africa cup of nations winner, Elderson Uwa Echiejile on a four and a half year deal from Portugal’s Sporting de Braga.

The Nigerian international who plays as a full-back was instrumental in Nigeria’s quest for success last year when he helped the team win the AFCON title for the third time.  He Joined SC Braga back in 2010 for 2.5m Euros on a four year contract going all the way to make 75 appearances, scoring 5 goals in the process.

Born in Benin City, Nigeria, Echiejile started his senior career with Bendel Insurance before he was sold to Stade Rennias FC in France. He comes with a lot of experience with 37 international caps for Nigeria and should help the Claudio Ranieri led Monaco push for the Ligue 1 title.
