KNVB Cup: Let the drama begin

The draw for the second round was made today and there's a couple of tasty match ups in the early stages. The games will take place on the 23, 24 and 25th of September, the first round games between the forty-two amateur sides were also made today and they'll be played on August the 27th.

The second round sees the professionals come into the action. Last seasons champions PEC Zwolle will start their defence by hosting Eerste Divisie side FC Oss, who finished last season in 19th place after a disappointing campaign. Ajax were the competition's runners-up last season and they'll be travelling to the winner between JOS Watergraafsmeer and vv Noordwijk. Two of the most interesting ties of the round see Feyenoord travelling to fellow Eredivisie side Go Ahead Eagles and PSV will be hosting FC Utrecht. Eerste Divisie's bottom side last season, Achilles '29 have the tough task of playing Twente and lastly another interesting tie will see Heerenveen travelling to face recently relegated Roda JC.
