Atletico Madrid have signed Slovenian international Jan Oblak on a six-year deal from Benfica.

The 21-year-old, who played in last seasons Europa League Final, has come in to replace Thibaut Courtois who is staying at Chelsea this season

Speaking to the media, sporting director Jose Luiz Perez Caminero said: “Jan Oblak is a goalkeeper with a lot of quality and a very promising future. He’ll offer us much with his enormous array of qualities. He’s one of the most promising goalkeepers in the world and we’re very happy that we can count on him. This is great news for our club.”

Oblak only broke into the Benfica first team this season and only made 16 appearances. However despite this he was still one of the most highly rated Goalkeepers in Portugal
