Feyenoord captain Jordy Clasie remains in negotiations with FC Porto tonight.

The Dutch midfielder made a good impression at the World Cup this summer, only working to intensify the already strong interest in him. It now appears that Porto have moved to the front of the pack in hope of landing Clasie.

Speaking just a fortnight ago, Feyenoord Sporting Director Martin Van Geel told De Telegraaf that he did not expect much to happen in regards to a possible transfer. Van Geel said: "Jordy is very happy at Feyenoord and we have no intention of selling him. We are willing to go the extra mile to hold on to him and the rest of the team."

However, in the last 48 hours, Clasie's agent Wessel Weezenburg confirmed to O'Jogo that talks with the Portuguese side are still ongoing despite noting that Feyenoord "do not need the money."

If negotiations are to be successful, Clasie would be reunited with his former teammate Bruno Martins Indi who recently made the switch to Porto on a 4-year deal.
