After a rocky four years with FC Utrecht, Swedish defender Marcus Nilsson has sealed a move back to his homeland with Kalmar FF.

Nilsson earned his move to FC Utrecht after establishing himself as one of the best centre backs in Sweden (at the time). He made 83 appearances for Helsingborgs in the Allsvenskan, becoming one of the first names on the team-sheet from 2009-2011. His form during that period also earned him call-ups to the Sweden U21's squad, and even the first XI.

However, after sealing a move to FC Utrecht in the summer of 2011, the Swedish defender's career has stalled massively, managing just 16 appearances in four seasons for the Dutch side.

Now aged 26, Nilsson will move back home with Kalmar FF in an attempt to restart his career while he still has time. The Swede spent time on loan there at the back end of last season, but will make the move permanently for the 2014/15 season.
