The biggest news coming out of the Eredivisie is that Manchester City have told PSV that they will make a decision on Karim Rekik's future next week. Rekik himself said towards the end of last season that he would not return to City if they couldn't play him more than 20 times, and it seems that Man City manager Manuel Pellegrini is taking the matter into his own hands to decide his future. It is likely that Rekik will join on loan again, with Eliaquim Mangala expected to sign for City in the next day or two.

FC Twente winger Quincy Promes has reportedly agreed a four-year contract to sign for Russian Premier League side Spartak Moscow. The 22-year old, who has been linked with Manchester United in the past, scored 11 goals in 31 league games last season as Twente finished third, securing a Europa League place for the coming season.

Meanwhile, Ligue 2 side Valenciennes have agreed a fee with ADO Den Haag to sign striker Rydell Poepon. Although the fee was not disclosed, a two-year contract has been agreed. Poepon spent last season on loan at fellow Eredivisie side NAC Breda, scoring nine goals.

In addition to the permanent sale of Poepon, Den Haag have accepted loan offers for Ricky Van Haaren and Malcolm Esajas, with Van Haaren joining newly promoted FC Dordrecht, whilst Esajas joins Eerste Divisie side RKC Waalwijk. Van Haaren becomes the fourth player to join Dordrecht on loan from Den Haag this season, with Giovanni Korte, Rick ten Voorde and Sem de Wit also on loan.

Versatile defender Jason Davidson has left Heracles Almelo to join Premier League side West Bromwich Albion. The left back, who can also play at the centre of defence, was one of Australia's important players in the World Cup, and his performances earned him a two-year contract at the Baggies, with the option of another year.

Finally, five clubs across Europe have shown an interest in PEC Zwolle's South African midfielder Kamohelo Mokotjo. Mokotjo's defensive performances were key to Zwolle winning the KNVB Cup last season, and has sparked interest from fellow Eredivisie sides, as well as Belgian teams. Ajax, Twente and PSV are all after his signature, with the latter seeing the player as an alternative to signing Steven Defour, should they fail in doing so. Anderlecht and Club Brugge are the other two sides interested, and Mokojto could be sold for as little as £1m.
