David Luiz was officially announced as a Paris Saint Germain player today. Luiz' transfer is believed to have been in the region of €50 million when it was agreed mid-World Cup. The fee, now makes David Luiz the most expensive defender in footballing history a feat that was previously held by new teammate Thiago Silva.

"PSG is a wonderful club in a wonderful city. I want to dream big. You must be ambitious." Luiz told the media who'd gathered for the unveiling.

Upon being asked about his relationship with Thiago Silva he said, "Me and Thiago Silva are good friends and we play well together. It's been the case for a long time."

Luiz was part of the Brazil squad at the World Cup and featured in every game including the embarrassing 7-1 smashing from eventual winners Germany.

Last term for Chelsea Luiz found his chances somewhat limited after the second coming of Jose Mourinho. He made just 15 league starts and 4 sub appearances and spent the rest of the time playing understudy to both Gary Cahill and veteran John Terry.

Luiz finished his unveiling with the following before going on to get more photographs, "I'm like a kid playing for the first time. It's incredible to get so much affection.
