PSV have beaten NAC Breda emphatically 6-1, goals from Wijnaldum, Depay and Locadia helped seal the win for PSV and sends a real message to their other title rivals.

Before the match, PSV were seen as clear favourites as they were at home against a side in NAC Breda who narrowly stayed up last season.

Karim Rekik began his second loan spell at PSV by going straight into the starting XI after signing in midweek on loan from Machester City.

Dutch national team manager Guus Hiddink was in attendance.

The match started with PSV trying to grow into the game as they were the home side and clear favourites for the match. There were plenty of half chances in the first 20 minutes mainly for PSV but the best chance in that time was for NAC as Kingsley Boateng found space in the box and forced a good save from Jeroen Zoet.

On the 21st minute, Depay ran from the half way line and attempted to find de Jong but the summer signing from Borussia Monchengladbach dummied it for Wijnaldum to run into and from about 10 yards out he slotted it into the botom right hand corner.

PSV looked a lot more comfortable after opening the scoring, only five minutes later they doubled their lead, Arias had space down the right hand side and crossed the ball into Luuk de Jong who didn't get on the end of it because NAC defender  Dancevski attempted to clear it but the ball ended up in the net as he managed to slice it into his own net.

With the 2-0 lead PSV looked certain for a win but NAC managed to get themselves back in it, Falkenburg for NEC found himself in a great position with just Zoet to beat but Arias bought him down and was lucky to only escape with a booking. Tighadouini stepped up to take the penalty and smashed it into the bottom left hand corner and Zoet dived the right way but couldn't stop it from going in.

The rest of the half was all NAC and were unlucky not to equalize in that time as their goalscorer Tighadouini had a couple of great oppurtunities that were nearly carbon copies of eachother. He cut in from the left and sent a curling shot in to the far post with his right foot on both occassions, Zoet saved the second one and the other went within inches of going in.

Half time: PSV 2-1 NAC Breda. The entertaining first half ended with PSV just about in the lead, PSV were settled for the first 30 minutes but once the penalty went in they lost momentum, NAC threatened for the rest of the half but couldn't get the equaliser.

Joshua Brenet replaced Abel Tamata at half time for PSV and early on in the second half NAC replaced their main player in Adnane Tighadouini who picked up an injury earlier on for Jeffery Sarpong.

Early on second half it was cagey but in the 51st minute Luuk de Jong won a costless kick for PSV in a good position to shoot from, Memphis Depay stepped up to take it and curled the ball around the wall and into the back of the net to make it 3-1 . This goal turned out to be massive for PSV as all the momentum was with them.

Just a couple of minutes later in the 53rd minute, the ball came to Luuk de Jong and he backheeled it to Jurgen Locadia who smashed the ball into the top left hand corner from the edge of the box, the keeper couldn't get near the shot and that goal made it 4-1 and NAC didn't have a chance of getting a result now.

NAC Breda were disorganized and couldn't stop the explosive PSV, in the 57th minute, PSV made it 5 after Jurgen Locadia was in space on the right and passed it into Georgio Wijnaldum who was open in the middle of the box and easily found the back of the net.

After that NAC went at PSV who weren't the strongest in defence despite new signing Karim Rekik not putting a foot wrong all game, they created chances but they couldn't get a goal back.

In the 73rd minute Locadia won a costless kick in a similar position to the one that Depay scored earlier on in the game but first PSV did a sub with Jorrit Hendrix coming on for Santiago Arias. The costless kick would be taken again by Memphis Depay who again scored, two wonderful costless kicks in one match to finish the scoring in a great win for PSV, the rest of the match was all PSV but they failed to make it 7-1.

Final score: PSV Eindhoven 6-1 NAC Breda. The result a fair reflection of the second half and PSV get the win they were expected to get, it wasn't easy in the first half but in the second half they made it look extremely easy. PSV have sent a real message to the other title rivals here and look as if they can be real competitors for this seasons title.

NAC Breda can look at positives from this game, their attack looked strong with players like Kingsley Boateng and Adnane Tighadouini who are both good young players. NAC need to be more organized at the back in future as there were times where they didn't know what they were doing and they shouldn't be conceding the same set piece twice like they did with Memphis Depay scoring with his two costless kick attempts.
