Ajax - Feyenoord, also known as De Klassieker, is always a tasty affair and this Sunday both sides need a win for more than just bragging rights.

Five games into the new Eredvisie season and Ajax find themselves 5th, and have yet to impress the Amsterdam faithful with disappointing defeats against Groningen and PSV, and a less than inspiring 2-1 home win against basement side Heracles. Compare this to Feyenoord's start, as one win, two draws and two defeats see's the Rotterdam club sit 14th going into this huge game, although last time out in the league they got a last gasp win in Den Haag.

Kenneth Vermeer, who played for Ajax for 9 years, signed for Feyenoord in the Summer and could start in nets against his former side. The move from Amsterdam to Rotterdam was criticised by some fans from both sides and a "Vermeer has Ebola" banner was spotted circulating social networks.

Both sides go into the game on the back of midweek European games, Ajax drew 1-1 with PSG while Feyenoord slumped to a 2-0 defeat in Seville. Midweek hero Lasse Schöne is set to miss this game with a groin injury picked against the French giants.

This weekends game was set to be the first match in 6 years that Ajax fans would be allowed in De Kuip, but their antics in the Bekker Final against PEC Zwolle has forced the Mayor of Rotterdam into banning them from the game for another 3 years.

This Sundays clash has a whole lot riding on it despite being so early in the season, and as always, promises to be a cracker!
