Top meets bottom as Porto host Bilbao in this Iberian clash on matchday 3 in group H.

Porto have made a steady start to this group by thrashing minnows Bate Borsiov 6-0 before going to Donetsk and drawing 2-2 with Shakhtar in what is still an open group heading into the halfway match.

The hosts have made a generally good start to the season with them sitting 2nd in the Portuguese Super Liga and having only lost one completive game all season however that came just this past weekend.

Porto's Spanish goalkeeper Andres has warned his team-mates not to be complacent heading into another game where they are favourites as he described opponents Bilbao as: "A sleeping lion that can awake at any time."

Opponents Athletic Bilbao have definitely been sleeping so far both domestically and in this group. The Basques kicked off with a goalless draw at New San Manmes against Shakhtar Donetsk before falling 2-1 to the supposed group whipping boys Bate Borisov.

It seems the persitence of having just Basque players in their squad is catching up with them in having to balance keeping up last year's high standards and competing in the Champions League. Their league form has definitley suffered as Ernersto Valvde's side sit one place above the La Liga drop zone.

Despite no competive victory since August Bilbao do know within themselves that they have enough quality within this squad to win European games as they have shown by beating Napoli over two legs to get in to the competition, however an improvment is needed right away.
