Following PSG’s 3-2 win over Marseille to cement Le Parisien’s top of Ligue 1 status for at least another week, after the game took all the headlines as Marseille hooligans attacked the PSG team bus.

Eight Marseille fans were arrested as a result of the attack. Before the game, a hostile crowd greeted the visitors with missiles and offensive chants/slurs, Swedish star Zlatan Ibrahimovic was also nearly struck by a golf ball.

PSG’s team coach was pelted with stones before kickoff and was left to wait by more than an hour as they waited for permission to leave the stadium following the 3-2 win that kept them top of the table.

Reports said Ibrahimovic was reportedly almost hit by a golf ball that smashed through the window of the team coach.

The incident was one of several that led to eight Marseille fans being arrested. Four were later released, but the remaining four are still in custody.

Eight officers sustained minor injuries as police charged at groups of OM fans blocking a roundabout near the stadium.

The Police were forced to bring upon extreme measures on the Olympique Marseille fans as Tear gas was also used to try and quell the outbreaks of trouble.
