Vittsjö GIK have continued their excellent transfer window today by adding Ngozi Okobi and Josephine Chukwunonye to their ranks.

Both Nigeria internationals, they also both arrive from the same club, leaving NWSL outfit Washington Spirit after being afforded few opportunities during the second half of the 2015 season - signing for them after impressive 2015 FIFA Women's World Cup campaigns.

Managing just six appearances between them for the Spirit, they have both opted for a switch elsewhere for more minutes and will hope to get exactly that in the Damallsvenskan.

Vittsjö keep up the good work

The signings of these two again show real intent from Vittsjö, who are looking to crack on in the top tier of Swedish football and make an impact on the division.

They have been struggling at the wrong end of the table in recent campaigns, but the quality they have added during the off-season suggests that this could change in 2016.

They should particuarly improve going forward, having signed three attackers now who can add plenty on the attack. Okobi completes this trio, a player who showed her unquestionable talent in Canada in the summer, with her scoring in Nigeria's memorable 3-3 draw with Sweden too.

Along with Clara Markstedt and another former NWSL player in Nkem Ezurike, the 22-year-old should add quality to the front line with her pace and directness - which will be needed after Vittsjö bagged just 26 goals in 22 games in 2015.

Meanwhile, at the other end of the pitch, Chukwunonye has been brought in to tighten up a leaky defence. The 23-year-old has plenty of experience despite her age - boasting 25 caps for her country - and will be a wise head at the back for her new team. She will be raring to go too, having spent plenty of time bench-warming in Washington.
