In a weekend that lacked the goals it could have provided, very little changed at either end of the Division 1 Féminine table. However, huge chances were missed by several sides to grab a vital four points.

Berger the difference as PSG hold Lyon, Montpellier miss massive chance to close gap

Despite the best efforts of the top two, neither could quite get score what would have been a vital, winning goal. The game carried massive permutations. Lyon would have, essentially, wrapped up yet another league title with a win that would have taken them seven points clear of PSG.

The capital club could have overtaken the reigning champions with victory, but were lucky to hold on for a share of the points. Ann-Katrin Berger pulled out all the stops to secure a draw, though PSG were largely dominated by the visitors. Lyon could count themselves unlucky to have not extended their lead at the top.

This then gave Montpellier the chance to bridge the gap between themselves and the top two; they knew a win would bring them level with PSG and three behind Lyon.

Despite the extra motivation before kick-off, the visitors stuttered at the start and came a cropper in the early stages. Maeva Clemaron managed to give Saint-Etienne a shock lead, but their joy was short-lived as Linda Sembrant brought the favourites level.

However, they couldn't find a second and passed up the perfect chance to get back in the title race. Saint-Etienne will be massively proud of this result and rightly so, cementing their place in sixth.

La Roche fall to Soyaux, Guingamp get the better of Nîmes

Separated by just three points before kick-off, La Roche and Soyuax were part of a group of six teams all likely to be battling to the bitter end to stay up. It was a game that neither wanted to lose and both desperately wanted to win, though the hosts got off to a terrible start.

Soyaux star Laura Bourgouin broke the dead-lock midway through the half, but the hosts - to their credit - fought back to level with Charlotte Peslerbe's strike. Anna Clérac would heap further misery on La Roche, restoring the visitors lead just before half time.

The home side got level again on the hour mark after Aline Liaigre scored, only to see Gwendoline Djebbar net Soyaux's winner with 12 minutes left. The win took Juan Parades' side up to sixth, and eight points clear of La Roche in the final relegation spot.

Guingamp were also playing at the same time, and had the chance to jump out of the drop zone with a win over floundering Nîmes.

What seemed like a straight forward task was anything but. A goal-less first half only made the home side and their fans more nervous about missing out on a vital win. However, in the 64th minute, Desire Oparanozie struck to secure all four points.

The hosts rose to 9th, three clear of the relegation zone, while Nîmes remain bottom and level with Saint-Maur. Things are not looking good for southern side.

Juvisy narrowly edge past lowly Saint-Maur, Rodez and Albi share the spoils

Two of the three Sunday games were tight and tense through-out, with the continuing lack of goals still a feature. Despite this, it was Juvisy who got the crucial goal int their game against second-bottom VGA Saint-Maur.

It was Tatiana Coleman who gave the 2006 champions the lead just after half-time, but a second bookable offence saw her sent off soon after. Goalkeeper Amelie Delvallée was also sent off in the same minute. Juvisy held on to claim the win and move within a win of PSG, and are now the form team in the division.

The final game of the weekend was an anti-climax, as ASPTT Albi and Rodez played out a goal-less draw. It did mean both moved further clear of relegation, by virtue of results elsewhere.
